Our Staff
Obesity Management at the Melbourne Institute for Obesity Surgery follows a multi-disciplinary team approach and our staff members work closely with our surgeons in both surgical and non-surgical management of obesity. Our staff includes people from the following disciplines -
- Registered Nurses who provide follow-up care and support to patients throughout all phases of the MIOS treatment.
- Nutritionists/ Dieticians - our nutritionists are registered dieticians who conduct nutritional evaluations of weight-loss candidates. They educate our patients on post-operative dietary habits, and provide on-going counselling to promote long-term weight maintenance.
- Psychologists who perform evaluations of potential patients and, when appropriate, provide or coordinate further psychological care.
- Bariatric Anaesthetists who have extensive experience in obesity surgery.
